We were honored to be chosen to design and implement the 2009 Mississippi Humanities Awards. These are presented at a banquet honoring individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to the humanities in our state. We decided on a delicate dogwood blossom and stem, mounted on walnut. | See our work: Jackson St. Gallery - Jackson, MS "A" Gallery - Hattiesburg, MS The Attic Gallery - Vicksburg, MS National Ornamental Metal Museum - Memphis, TN Madison-Morgan Cultural Arts Center - Madison, Georgia The Gift Shop - Pontotoc,Ms Bankhead Gallery - New Albany, MS Union Co. | Harrison forged the stem and leaves in steel, with a separate copper blossom. June enameled the blossom, using sgraffito and powder enamels to capture the veins in the petals. Harrison mounted the flower with a bolt textured to resemble the center of the flower. We have had several galleries interested in June's paintings. To see some, check out our new link below. |
